Soybean meal is the by-product of soybean oil processing. There are many processes which result in different products. It is mainly demanded for its crude
protein content.
The soybean meal can be categorized into two:
High-protein soybean meal that is obtained from dehulled seeds, and contains 47-49% protein and 3% crude fiber
Conventional" soybean meal that is obtained from hulled seeds, with 43-44% protein
The oil content in solvent-extracted soybean meals is 2% low, while it is 3% high in mechanically-extracted meals. Soybean meal is an essential protein
source used to feed
farm animals.
